If you decide to drive and take in the outstanding scenery, Fort William is usually the main base to start from. Although, the more romantic way tends to start with the short trip on the Corran Ferry. This way you land in Ardgour, in the south east of Ardnamurchan.
You could not visit Ardnamurchan without taking a trip on the Jacobite Steam Train. Or at least get photographs of it. You can take the scenic journey on the steam train from Fort William to Mallaig. This journey which offers splendid views of Loch Shiel from the famous viaduct at Glenfinnan. In addition take time out at the Glenfinnan Monument and take in the history of the Jacobite Rising and admire the views.
Alternatively if you prefer to feel the soft white sand between your toes, you won’t go far wrong at the many beautiful beaches. These include Sanna Bay, Morar, Ardtoe, Camusdarach or Kentra and the Singing Sands, to name only a few. Ardnamurchan is the perfect region for adventure.
