Old Packhorse Bridge in Carrbridge
The pretty village of Carrbridge is in Strathspey, part of the Cairngorms National Park. The Old Packhorse Bridge is located only seven miles north of Aviemore, just off the main A9 road. Flowing through the heart of the village is the River Dulnain which flows into the river Spey.
If there has been a lot of rainfall, the dark peaty water is sometimes a spectacle in its own as it thunders over the craggy river bed and under the bridge.
The Old Packhorse Bridge is just off the A9
If you are a photographer, one of the best times to photograph it is at dusk or dawn. Especially if you catch it during sunrise or sunset as the bridge is illuminated also.
So, next time you journey along the A9, take a short detour into Carrbridge and view the Old Packhorse Bridge and share you photographs with us.
